Porsche Recalls Carrera Models: Porsche Cars North America Inc. recalled all 11,091 of its 911 Carrera 2 and 911 Carrera 4 sports cars from the 1989-92 model years to fix a defective cruise-control system. On certain cars, the ball sockets on the cruise control linkages could break, preventing the engine from returning to idle speed, Porsche said. Porsche will replace the plastic ball sockets with steel ones and lubricate the relay lever, a company spokesman said. Owners are being asked by Porsche not to use the cruise-control system until their vehicles are repaired.
