WEST ADAMS : LAPD Reforms’ Effects Discussed

A town hall meeting to discuss how proposed reforms to the Los Angeles Police Department will affect relationships between officers and the city’s African-American community will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Holman United Methodist Church.

Participating as panelists will be City Councilman Mark Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles Police Commissioner Jesse Brewer and police Cmdr. Art Lopez. The discussion will be moderated by the Rev. Norman Johnson, pastor of the First New Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.

The meeting will be the first in a series scheduled by the Community Relations and Political Action Committee of Holman Church at 3320 W. Adams Blvd.
