San Gabriel Valley : 4 Area Cities to Be Honored
Duarte, Monterey Park, Pasadena and South El Monte are among nine Los Angeles County cities that will receive awards Monday during the League of California Cities’ annual conference at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
The cities are being singled out for working with the private sector and with residents to preserve and enhance the health and safety of residents.
Pasadena will be honored for its Quality of Life Index, Duarte for distribution of a self-help guide on how to stay healthy and for organization of a children’s health fair, South El Monte for children’s immunization clinics, and Monterey Park for adult literacy education incorporating aspects of health and cultural familiarization.
