Defending Police in Fatal Shooting

Share

I was shocked beyond words when I read that, “45 people gathered . . . to protest shooting” (“Man in Park Fatally Shot by 2 Officers,” Sept. 28). Then, to add insult to injury, an officer is assaulted with a rock and injured, (while) presumably protecting the shooting scene.

What could these these people be protesting? When, in their minds, does a police officer’s life mean anything? When a person, whether suspicious or not, points a weapon at a police officer, he or she should expect their life to be just about completed.
