Mark Allen of Cardiff set two records in winning the Ironman Triathlon World Championship at Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Allen, 34, finished in 8:09:09, six seconds better than his 1989 record. He also set a record with his fourth consecutive championship. Paula Newby-Fraser of Encinitas won her fifth women’s title in 8:55:31, more than four minutes better than her 1989 record.
