MYTH-TAKEN? The grumbling about the new bust of Columbus at the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art has had its effect. The Santa Ana museum is planning seminars on whether “the myth of Columbus is appropriate for a modern age.” . . . Some American Indians complained about Columbus’ being enshrined in a museum dedicated to the people who suffered from his discovery. Says a museum spokesman: “I don’t mean to trivialize the issue, but applying 20th- Century values to 15th-Century people doesn’t seem to be leading anywhere.”
