Education is for our children and the future. Because the American people do not have the good sense to think through these budgetary judgments at the federal level, the impact should be on themselves, not on their children. If they don’t want their health care now, so be it. If they don’t want the jobs that would come through rebuilding the infrastructure now, so be it. But they should not be allowed to retard the lives, the opportunities for their children.
Education should receive priority over all other needs.
We should not be saddling the future generations with our own failures as citizens to understand the trade-offs.
