Cold Facts: ABC News has interviewed participants on all three sides of the 1962 Cuban missile crisis--the United States, the Soviet Union and Cuba--for “The Missiles of October: What the World Didn’t Know,” a two-hour documentary airing Saturday at 9 p.m. “The leaders of all three countries were operating with little or no idea of what the other was planning which put the world closer to the brink than anyone knew or was willing to admit,” notes anchor Peter Jennings. “After 30 years, we finally understand how close we were to nuclear war.”
