Warning Sign on Nuclear Dump
The article on warning future generations, up to 10,000 years from now, about the dangers of nuclear waste dumps is likely to be an unnecessary effort.
If civilization still exists then, scientists and scholars would surely know about 20th-Century abuse of the environment. They would have access to our historical records, which are being recorded better than ever before.
In the event that civilization regressed greatly, people would not have the technological ability to unknowingly drill into waste dumps that are 2,000 feet beneath the surface. Let us hope that future generations know more about us than we know about humans in prehistoric times.
