UniDirect Corp. Announces British Software Joint Venture

Share

UniDirect Corp., an Irvine supplier of Unix software and products, said Monday that it has established an office in England through a joint venture with a Unix software distributor in Rugby, a town about 100 miles north of London.

The Unix software would allow Unix computer users to communicate with personal computers.

Bernard P. Jubb, UniDirect’s president and chief executive, said his company has taken a minority interest in the new venture. The British distributor has changed its name from Unix Support Ltd. to UniDirect (UK) Ltd., he said, but the British venture will operate independently of the U.S. company.

Jubb said that he will meet with Unix suppliers in Belgium next month to discuss establishing similar ventures there.
