Revasser Helps Bring the Curtain Down at Belmont
French-based Revasser beat Honor Rajana by 2 1/2 lengths Monday in Belmont Park’s closing day feature, the $123,800 Tidal Handicap.
Ridden by Thierry Jarnet, Revasser covered the 1 3/8 miles on the inner turf in 2:14 1/5 to win her United States debut. The Grade II race drew 11 entries, with Time For Lightning finishing third.
The winner, the only filly in the field, paid $8.60, $6.40 and $6. Honor Rajana, ridden by Julie Krone, returned $11.20 and $7.20. Time For Lightning, ridden by Jean Cruguet, paid $9.60.
Revasser, owned by Juddmonte Farm, earned $74,280 for her second victory in eights starts this year.
Racing will begin at Aqueduct on Wednesday.
