10 Upcoming Events Today, Saturday: United We Stand, America, the group supporting Ross Perot’s presidential campaign, is sponsoring a Thousand Oaks rally today and a Camarillo car caravan on Saturday. The Thousand Oaks rally will be held at the corner of Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Kanan Road from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Participants in the Camarillo car caravan should meet in the Lucky’s parking lot at 10 a.m. Saturday at the corner of Las Posas and Arneill roads in Camarillo. The group invites the public to its headquarters to watch Perot’s second video show that features a profile of the candidate. The shows will run on NBC (channel 4) at 8 p.m. today and on CBS (channel 2) at 8 p.m. Saturday. The headquarters for United We Stand is at 475 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Port Hueneme. Today, Sunday: Thousand Oaks Councilman Bob Lewis will attend a “Meet the Candidate Coffee” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today at the home of Dwight and Cate Brown in Westlake Village. On Sunday, Lewis will attend two more coffees, the first from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the home of Joan Young, 1409 Eastwind, Westlake Village (call 495-2000 for reservations). Today: The Conejo Republican Action Committee will sponsor an open house from 7 to 10 p.m. for voters who wish to meet 19th state Senate District candidate Assemblywoman Cathie Wright (R-Simi Valley) and Oxnard Mayor Nao Takasugi, candidate in the 37th Assembly District. Other Republican candidates have also been invited. The open house will be held at the home of Mike and Carol Berger, 1025 Calle Pecos, Thousand Oaks. Saturday: The RFK Democratic Club of Simi Valley-Moorpark will present “Issues Night,” with guest speakers addressing the ballot initiatives, the economy, environment and education. Sunday: Santa Paula Elementary School Board candidates Ben Saiz and Joe Michael Gonzalez will host a fund-raising picnic, with congressional candidate Anita Perez Ferguson as one of the guest speakers. The event, which costs $10 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under, will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Santa Paula Train Depot at 10th and Santa Barbara streets. Food will be served and entertainment will be provided by classical guitarist Ben Medrano, the band Alma Grande and the dance troupe Grupo Folklorico Tepeyac.
