Ross Perot went on a spending frenzy upon re-entering the presidential race, outspending President Bush and Bill Clinton combined in the first half of October, reports showed Thursday.

Perot reported kicking in $26 million of his own money in the first 14 days of this month as the presidential candidates filed their final spending reports with the government before Election Day.

In comparison, Bush reported spending $12.3 million during the same period while Clinton spent $11.9 million.

Perot’s contribution in October to his effort brought to $46.7 million the amount of money he has spent. During Monday’s debate, he predicted his tab would run at least $60 million.
