From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Gunmen opened fire on a cruise boat carrying foreign tourists as it sailed along the Nile in southern Egypt, two days after a British tourist was killed in an ambush. No casualties were reported in the latest incident, which took place as the boat sailed by Nagaa Hammadi, 280 miles south of Cairo, police said. They suspect Muslim extremists, who want to impose Islamic rule in Egypt, for the attack.
