The System Fails the Child
You portray the rapist father of the child (“A Question of Rights” Times Valley Edition Oct. 4) as an innocent victim of the system, barely able to defend himself against the adoptive family.
The real victim is the child, who has been tossed from the security and protection of her adoptive parents into the hands of a man who, according to your article, may abuse and molest her.
I not only question the motives of this man, but also question the point you are trying to make in this piece. The only good from this case is that now we have a law restricting the paternal rights of rapists. The child is the big loser.
