Congressional Races
I am writing to express my gratitude as an Afghan-American to those of the 45th District who have supported and elected Rep. Duncan Hunter. I will never be able to express enough thanks to Hunter for his contributions in achieving “peace through strength” in America and providing humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan.
The election coverage rarely mentions the cloud of nuclear holocaust that had threatened us for four decades. Twenty-five million Americans served in the armed forces to protect the world, costing thousands of billions of dollars to the American taxpayers during the 40-year Cold War. Finally, in recent years we have seen the defeat of the communist system and witnessed the disintegration of the Soviet Union. The major contributing factors toward that victory were the unyielding policies of President Ronald Reagan and the determination of congressmen such as Duncan Hunter.
As an adviser to the International Medical Corps, Hunter’s contributions have been invaluable in saving thousands of lives in Afghanistan and around the world.
