VALUE JUDGMENTS

Rodriguez rightly deplores those families who preach family values but shut their doors to their homosexual children. But he wrongly concludes that homosexuality should be accepted or tolerated by the family or society.

His error is that he fails to distinguish between the sin and the sinner. The proper family value is to welcome, care for and love the errant son. But the sin of that errant son should never be condoned or tolerated.

What is there to be mocked in a society that believes in chastity, not fornication; married fidelity, not adultery; sacredness of life from conception, not abortion; love between Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve?
