MONTANA FACE-OFF: Another close race has developed in Montana, where Democrat Dorothy Bradley hopes to crack the gender line by becoming the state’s first woman governor. To do that, she must fend off Republican Atty. Gen. Marc R. Racicot. . . . Bradley is a veteran state legislator; Racicot became well-known to Montanans as the prosecutor in the celebrated “mountain man” trial of two backwoods misfits who in 1984 abducted and enslaved biathlete Kari Swenson. . . . The abortion rights issue has emerged as a clear line of demarcation between the candidates. Racicot opposes abortion rights; Bradley introduced the state’s first abortion legalization bill in 1971.
