Alhambra : Moratorium on 2nd Homes
In the attempt to safeguard some predominantly single-family residence neighborhoods, the City Council voted 5 to 0 to extend an interim zoning measure suspending building of second homes on properties zoned for two units.
The extension will be in effect for 10 months and 15 days while city staff studies all two-residence properties in the city for possible downzoning to single-family residence status. Only areas that have the character of such neighborhoods will be targeted for downzoning, and properties with existing second homes will be unaffected.
