Algerian security forces, pursuing a relentless crackdown on Muslim fundamentalists, have arrested 25 more people linked to “terrorist” groups, the official news agency APS reported Wednesday.

The latest arrests bring to more than 460 the number seized in the past two weeks. Most have been linked to the outlawed Islamic Salvation Front (FIS).

Algeria is in open warfare against the FIS, according to officials who blame its radicals for the killing of more than 150 members of the security forces since last February.

Ambushes of security forces started shortly after the authorities canceled a general election that the FIS was poised to win. The party was outlawed last March.
