Shoichi Yamada has been named president and chief executive of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., Long Beach. Yamada replaces Setsujiro Onami, who returns to Tokyo as a director of Pioneer Electronic Corp., the parent organization of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.

Since December, 1991, Yamada has served as general manager of the Europe division and the overseas merchandising division in the international business group at Pioneer Electronic Corp. in Europe.
