Ice Cube’s Newest: Los Angeles rapper Ice Cube premiered selections from his upcoming “Predator” album on an illegal “pirate” radio broadcast to the central L.A. area on Friday. The three-hour “Rebel Radio” show was hosted and produced by Black Rose, a Fresno-based figure who has staged illicit broadcasts throughout California since the mid-’80s. Among the new songs was “U Ain’t Gonna Take My Life,” an anti-police rap in which Ice Cube says that the Rodney King beating “made me want to go out and pop me a cop.” Ice-T, whose own “Cop Killer” song was the center of a rap lyrics controversy last summer, was also a guest on the show. “Predator” is scheduled for a Nov. 17 release.
