Dolco Packaging Posts Profit on 4% Sales Jump

Dolco Packaging Corp., extending its recent recovery from years of losses, reported a third-quarter profit of $491,618 on a 4% increase in sales.

The Sherman Oaks-based maker of plastic packaging goods said the profit in the quarter ended Sept. 30 contrasted with a year-earlier loss of $846,803, which included costs related to the company’s reorganization under federal bankruptcy laws. Dolco emerged from the reorganization in July, 1991.

Dolco’s third-quarter sales rose to $14.1 million from $13.5 million. For the first nine months of 1992, Dolco earned $1.36 million, contrasted with a year-earlier loss of $3.02 million, and its nine-month sales inched up to $42.6 million from $42.4 million.
