Machining Company Looking for Workers

Rapstine Enterprises, a machining business whose current projects include an ATM-type device for dispensing airline and theater tickets, has moved from Northridge to Moorpark and is planning to expand its payroll.
“We’re looking for people who can operate computerized lathes or milling machines,” said owner Don Rapstine. He said his 27-year-old company is a subcontractor on the ticket dispenser and also on the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 airliner. The ticket machine is being made for a major airline, he said.
Rapstine Enterprises purchased its newly constructed building on Bonsai Avenue from Moorpark West Corp. The 9,400-square-foot building is more than twice as large as the company’s former headquarters.
Rapstine said Moorpark’s climate was a key reason for his decision to leave the Valley. “The cooler weather here should be easier on our machines,” he explained.
