A Musical Quack-Up: The Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn., which specializes in the resurrection of old musicals, has come up with a winner in its reworking of “Animal Crackers,” a 1920s Marx Brothers show better known today from its 1930 film version. The Associated Press praised it as a “four-quack revival” and a “heaven-sent circus,” while the New York Times called it “a terrific production.” Frank Ferrante, Les Marsden, Robert Michael Baker and Craig Rubano were singled out for their look-alike portrayals of the zany brothers.
