NORTHRIDGE : CSUN Launches $16-Million Project

Cal State Northridge officials held a groundbreaking ceremony Friday to celebrate construction of a $16-million addition to the school’s engineering building.

CSUN President Blenda Wilson called the new addition “an important human investment” because it will allow students to work in new, state-of-the-art laboratories.

About 100 people attended the ceremony for the 73,000-square-foot addition, which is being paid for with state bonds approved by voters during the late 1980s. The building is expected to be finished by the 1995 spring semester, school officials said.
