Magic’s Re-Retirement: Was It Caused by Fear, Rumors or Mailman?

I do not consider Magic Johnson a hero because he contracted a venereal disease, nor do I condemn him. I simply say treat him as if he had a very contagious disease. Until we start to get straight, non-political answers about AIDS, we cannot be blamed for being extremely careful.

The bottom line is, how many of us are willing, indeed how many of us should be willing, to risk our lives or the lives of our children, in order to not hurt someone’s feelings? Compassion is a wonderful emotion, but it must be tempered with intelligence.
