Semiconductor Orders Set Record in October: Orders for semiconductors in the U.S. market reached record levels in October, according to figures compiled by the Semiconductor Industry Assn. In addition, the industry’s key market indicator, the book-to-bill ratio, increased to 1.10, meaning that for every $100 worth of products shipped, manufacturers received $110 worth of new orders. October bookings were $1.76 billion, exceeding the previous record of $1.68 billion set in June. October’s bookings are up 5.4% from September and are 41.1% higher than a year ago.
