Boxer’s Win in Senate Race
As a member of the State Central Committee of the California Democratic Party, I was outraged when I discovered that Bob Mulholland was suspended from his official capacity with our party (Nov. 1), because he was the one who made public Herschensohn’s attendance at a nightclub featuring nude dancing.
Herschensohn identifies strongly with the religious right wing of the Republican Party. He has repeatedly articulated a gravely limited view of the role of the U.S. Constitution in protecting us individual Americans from the excesses of our state governments.
Mulholland did precisely the right thing. If ever there were such a thing as poetic justice, this is it! Herschensohn, by his own admission, enjoyed his visit to an establishment that features a form of entertainment that he does not consider worthy of First Amendment protection. This is delicious!
