COLLEGE ROUNDUP : UCI Women Defeat Loyola Marymount in Five Games

Popi Edwards had 20 kills, helping UC Irvine to a five-game victory over Loyola Marymount in a nonconference women’s volleyball match Tuesday at Loyola Marymount.

Jessica Perkins added 11 kills and Scotleen Risley had 10 kills and 17 digs for the Anteaters (14-11), who won, 12-15, 15-10, 15-3, 4-15, 15-11.

Amy Moeller, a freshman from Mater Dei, and Dana Bragado each had 17 kills for Loyola Marymount (16-10).

In Big West Conference women’s volleyball:

Cal State Long Beach 3, Cal State Fullerton 0--Danielle Scott had nine kills and Sabrina Hernandez had 21 assists to lead Long Beach (24-1, 15-0) to a 15-1, 15-1, 15-3 sweep. Lisa Parbst and Alyssa Donaldson each had three kills for host Fullerton (0-25, 0-15).
