Government Looks Into Mazda Door Complaints: The government’s traffic safety agency is investigating complaints that doors inadvertently open on certain Mazda 626 and 929 models. The investigation involves 1988-1989 Mazda 929s and 1988-1991 Mazda 626s, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said. The safety agency received 10 complaints about the doors and, after conducting a preliminary evaluation, is now studying the door parts to see if they are defective. Mazda has acknowledged that the assembly is susceptible to failure and has redesigned it, the agency said. The investigation eventually could lead to a recall of the vehicles.
