World IN BRIEF : BOSNIA-HERZEGOVINA : 1,500 Serbs, Croats Leave Sarajevo

About 1,500 people jammed into buses for a hasty escape from the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo while a shaky cease-fire continued to hold. About 600 Serbs and 900 Croats bade a tearful farewell to loved ones and were safely evacuated in two Red Cross convoys. Elsewhere in the country, there were scattered reports of fighting but no serious violations of the truce.
