Total MultiMedia Forms Partnership With Iterated

A tiny Thousand Oaks company, Total MultiMedia Inc., has joined the growing list of firms hoping to market a concept that allows video programming to be played back on personal computers.

TMM has formed an alliance with Iterated Systems Inc. of Norcross, Ga., to develop programming based on Iterated’s video system, said Daniel P. Shields, TMM’s president. He said the system allows a computer to play back audio, video, text and graphics from a single disk without requiring special hardware.

In addition to developing its own technology, the TMM-Iterated partnership plans to produce its own educational and entertainment disks for computers, Shields said.

TMM, which was founded in 1990, will be competing in the video-on-PC market with such computer giants as IBM, Microsoft and Apple.
