TRUST THEM: County supervisors recently slashed another $31.4 million from this year’s budget. But still, they are expected to vote Tuesday to increase funds for the county’s Washington representative by 20%. . . . It’s so lobbyist James F. McConnell Jr. can hire extra lawyers for environmental matters. Environmental Management Agency director Michael M. Ruane explains: “There’s no question we’ll save money, just having our input heard in Washington.”
