SOUTH GATE — The City Council will convene a public hearing Tuesday to discuss the city’s new affordable-housing plan.
Among the goals set in the 1993 Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy are the rehabilitation of existing single- and multifamily housing units, and assistance programs to encourage construction of low- and moderate-income housing.
The city has to submit the document to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by Dec. 31 to be eligible for funding for various housing proposals.
The housing plan will be available for review until Dec. 11 at City Hall; the South Gate Chamber of Commerce, 3350 Tweedy Blvd.; the Leland R. Weaver Library, 4035 Tweedy Blvd., and the Hollydale Public Library, 1200 Garfield Ave.
The hearing will be at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 8650 California Ave.
