Share

Caltech has received a $7.7-million grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to establish a Silvio Conte Center for Neuroscience Research. The new center will focus on ways in which nerve cells send and receive information in the brain and nervous system.

The Caltech center will be the fourth, with others at Stanford and Northwestern universities and UC San Francisco. They are named for the late Massachusetts Congressman Silvio Conte, who introduced the resolution to the House of Representatives that proclaimed the 1990s the “Decade of the Brain.”
