Advanced Photonix Chairman Resigns

William R. Graham has resigned as chairman of Camarillo-based Advanced Photonix Inc. to pursue other interests. He was succeeded by Bernhardt Denmark, former chairman of International Playtex Corp.

“The parting was entirely amicable and Bill will continue to advise us,” said Tom Lewis, president and chief executive of Advanced Photonix. Graham found it impractical to continue in his post because he lives in Washington, D.C., Lewis said.

The company produces components used in fiber optics, medical diagnosis and other applications where light is converted into electronic signals.

Denmark also has replaced Graham as chairman of Xsirius Inc., which is one of Advanced Photonix’ major stockholders.
