Advanced Photonix Cuts Quarterly Loss to $509,000

Advanced Photonix Inc., a Camarillo maker of photodetector devices that convert light into electronic signals, said it cut its losses in its fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 to $509,000 from $825,000 a year earlier.

Revenue for the three months increased to $1.9 million, from $327,000 in its fiscal second quarter a year ago. Through its two fiscal quarters this year, the company posted a loss of $1.3 million on revenue of $3.6 million. That compares with a loss of $1.45 million on revenue of $397,000 during the similar six-month period a year earlier.
