LANCASTER : Man Sentenced in Slaying Over Drugs

A reputed Lancaster drug dealer faces a sentence of 26 years to life in prison after being convicted Monday of second-degree murder in the slaying of a customer over a $3 rock cocaine debt, the prosecutor said.

A Lancaster Superior Court jury, on its third day of deliberation after a 17-day trial, returned the verdict against Phillip G. Allison, 35. The verdict came after the jury deadlocked, 6-6, on a more serious first-degree murder finding, Deputy Dist. Atty. John Evans said.

Allison was convicted of fatally shooting Jose Sanchez, 23, of Lancaster in an alley behind Cedar Avenue in Lancaster on Feb. 29. Allison is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 15 by Lancaster Superior Court Judge Thomas Stoever. Another person believed involved in the shooting has not been caught.
