Robert Kehoe; Inventor of Anti-Knock Additive for Gasoline

Robert Kehoe, 99, inventor of the anti-knock gasoline additive. Kehoe was a physiology professor at the University of Cincinnati in 1925 when he discovered how to safely make, mix and distribute ethyl gasoline, the anti-knock additive for car and airplane fuel. In 1930, he founded the school’s Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology and served as director until he retired in 1965. In Cincinnati on Tuesday.
