‘Holiday Albums’: Retailers are trotting out the “holiday albums” on which well-known entertainers--some of whom have seen a number of Christmas seasons come and go--sing the perennials.

Even Taco Bell, the fast-food chain based in Irvine, has got one and is donating the profits to charity.

The more than 300 Taco Bell restaurants in Orange and Los Angeles counties will be offering “Best of the Stars Come Out for Christmas,” with Jose Feliciano singing “O Little Town of Bethlehem” and Don McLean belting out “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Proceeds go to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Target Stores is taking a different tack, commissioning Christian music superstar Amy Grant to sing a new song, “Let the Season Take Wing.” A cassette tape is given free to anyone who buys the singer’s new Christmas album.
