Branching Out: Actress Julia Roberts, whose last screen appearance was in “Hook” a year ago, has a new two-year production deal with independent producer Joe Roth, calling for her to develop and produce movie projects in which she also will star. The pact was announced Wednesday by Roth and Jeffrey Katzenberg, chairman of Walt Disney Studios. Roth, former 20th Century Fox studio chief, moved to Disney as an independent producer last month.
