Intervention in Bosnia-Herzegovina
I would like to convey my appreciation to The Times for giving a whole page to coverage of the genocide in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Many of the essays were informative, but some lacked depth and understanding of the situation in Bosnia.
What many politicians, journalists, educators, etc., fail to understand is, regardless of how Bosnia-Herzegovina is ethnically carved, the majority of people from Bosnia see themselves as Bosnians first. Many times the defenders of Bosnia are branded as Muslim and Croatian forces, but this description is very misleading and insulting, because there are many Bosnians who are not Croatian or Bosnian Muslim and are giving their lives to defend Bosnia!
It is very shocking that the world (especially Europe) is not allowing the Bosnian people to fight for their defense and freedom by not lifting the arms embargo. Even the Bush Administration is behaving as if only the U.S. can have a multicultural society based on democracy.
The only way to challenge, and to conquer this disease, is to use military force. The last five years should have proved to the world community that nothing constructive or lasting came from dialogue with the Serbian leadership in Belgrade, or its proxies.
