Donald T. Gillin; Marketed John Wayne, Dino De Laurentiis Films

Donald T. Gillin, 78, film industry executive who marketed films of John Wayne and Dino De Laurentiis. Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Gillin was educated at the University of Minnesota. He began his career in sales for Warner Bros. and Universal studios. As an Army major in World War II, he earned a Purple Heart and four battle stars. In 1950, Gillin became vice president and general sales manager for Sol Lesser Productions. A decade later, he founded his own company, Producers Representatives, which handled distribution of the Wayne and De Laurentiis films among others. On Monday in Los Angeles after a lengthy illness.
