Not Just R.A.F.

In “Dresden Recaptures Some of its Former Beauty” (Nov. 29) Beverly Beyer and Ed Rabey are inaccurate when they write, “On the nights of Feb. 13-15, 1945, Britain’s Royal Air Force bombers came very close to obliterating Dresden’s Old Town . . .” Actually the R.A.F. bombing, with two- and four-ton bombs and 650,000 incendiary bombs by 800 heavy bombers, was on the night of Feb. 13-14. Next night, it was followed by waves of U.S. Army/Air Force “flying fortresses,” 450 of them, which finished the job.
