Guardrails Appreciated

Share

Sometimes the system works.

As a resident of Lone Oak, off Las Virgenes Road in Calabasas, my wife and I travel Malibu Canyon Road extensively. Since I’m a native, I’ve taken for granted the treacherous curves south of the tunnel. My wife, however, was terrified. Speed bumps are considered “hills” in much of Texas, her birthplace. This fear was justified by a recent traffic study verifying many deaths and injuries along Malibu Canyon Road.

The study was conducted at the request of County Supervisor Ed Edelman, who in turn was asked by my wife to look into the possibility of installing guardrails along the most dangerous turns.

The guardrails ($35,000 worth) are now in. Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

Thanks, Supervisor Edelman.
