THOUSAND OAKS : Bus Hours Expanded for Holiday Period

Thousand Oaks will expand the operating hours of its city bus system for two weeks during the Christmas shopping season to accommodate holiday shoppers trying to get to regional shopping centers.
Beginning Saturday, Thousand Oaks Transit buses will run from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., instead of ending at 6:30 p.m. weekdays, city transportation manager Roy Myers said. Shoppers can also catch a bus that travels between the Oaks and Janss malls, he said. The expanded hours will end Dec. 27.
A temporary weekend bus route has also been added. It will run between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The 75-cent fares have also been dropped to encourage ridership, Myers said. During the two-week period, all fares will be 25 cents.
