U.S. Military Aid to Somalia
The Bush-Clinton decision to send U.S. military aid to Somalia was purely for imperialistic reasons, not humanitarian ones.
Yes, it is heart-rending to hear of the suffering in Somalia. But if our country were so concerned about poverty, hunger and homelessness, we wouldn’t have so much poverty, hunger and homelessness here at home.
It is interesting that the U.S. always has the billions and trillions for military weapons and troops but won’t allow AIDS patients over $5,000 for medical treatment.
