The University Athletic Council voted 6-0 to censure New Mexico Coach Dave Bliss, University College Dean John Rinaldi and two instructors over a basketball star’s late registration.
University President Richard Peck also was criticized for not denouncing the actions that preserved Lobo point guard Steve Logan’s eligibility.
The senior from Compton had been dropped from two classes Dec. 3 with two weeks left in the fall semester and--within hours--was registered in two new courses, enabling him to play that night against Texas A&M.; The action is in accord with school rules.
