Clintons’ Visit to Summerland
Thank you for trying to show both sides of the Clinton/Summerland issue (Column Left and Column Right, Dec. 1) but neither Tom Hayden nor Joseph Farah revealed anything more than their dedication to the polarization between ultra-liberals and ultra-conservatives, which the electorate clearly rejected on Nov. 3.
I strongly supported and voted for George Bush, but I see nothing wrong with Bill Clinton’s acceptance of the Thomasons’ largess. In fact as a Southern Californian, I’m proud and complimented that our new President will spend some time here.
Perhaps Hayden would take more comfort if the Thomasons had instead offered the mansion for use by the poor and homeless, or destroyed the estate and dug a refuge for the Harry the whale.
Hayden remains in never-never land pandering to his liberal constituents, and Farah thinks it’s still Nov. 2.
